Life hack #17: Missing physical touch? Here is a quick solution

[00:00:00] Life hack #17 Missing physical touch? Here is a quick solution. Sometimes when you go through a break up, it's the first time your body, your physical body doesn't get touched. It doesn't get not only hugged or made love to or anything like that. Not even touched, not even brushed up against sometimes when you break up with somebody, they were the person that they were your intimate partner.

And so you might go a couple of days, couple of weeks, couple of months until you realize that you are absolutely starved for physical touch. I've seen some people who are even in lonely relationships. So people who weren't even broken up with, but in lonely relationships who were also touch starved to the point where I saw them get emotional when one of my friends went over and hugged them, and gave them some warmth. So I understand that some people can be absolutely deficient in physical touch. And so what do you do if you don't have somebody who you actually, you necessarily even want to hug from right. Here's two quick solutions. One of them is a heating pad. If you want [00:01:00] to go to my Amazon storefront, which by the way, I do have a link in the description of this podcast. It is an affiliate link, but I did put together some necessities to help you through a break up survival. And you can get that link in the description.

But a heating pad. When you turn it on, set it up to a warm temperature and just lay it on your back while you're laying in bed and it can actually stimulate the feeling of physical warmth, right? Because it feels like somebody is almost hugging you. When you get out a bunch of warmth going across your back.

Right. Then you can just move it where you need it. Do you need it on your chest for a while? Sometimes I fall asleep with it on a low setting. So at least I feel like I'm grabbing onto warmth. So a heating pad most people already have one on hand. If not, again, go to my Amazon storefront or a local place.

You can get one for yourself. That's a really good solution. The other solution is to go and get a massage. You can go if you have benefits for your work or whatnot, or even if you just want to spend some money on yourself, go and book a massage with a massage therapist, these people will put [00:02:00] their hands on you.

They will put their hands on your arms, your legs, your belly, wherever you need them to. I remember after I was going through a break up, that was like a year ago, and it had been a few months since I had had, you know, anyone touch me really like maybe a few hugs here and there. And I booked a massage and I went and laid down and I even cried on the massage table.

I don't know if she even noticed because I was that touch starved and I couldn't believe that like, for me, that was like maintenance, like physical health maintenance so that I could go another few months without being touched again. So, yeah, so massage therapy is a great solution. If you can afford it, if not, and you can, you know, find a friend that wants to trade massages that can also help to. But yeah, these were really great life hacks that helped me out.

And I hope that they help you.
